PUPPY TRAINING

20 pups done 7 more to go

20 chiots atteles 7 encore a faire

I am back on puppy training and they are all doing good.

I did so far 20 out of the 27 pups.

Some of the pups are getting to be a "pain in the butt" they now realize what they are going to do and love running and pulling and are completely CRAZY to put the harness on.... Wake and Skid were the worst today... Zoser already enjoy chewing neckline....

In couple of days I'll start on the Jewel pups.

SCRATCH

Jacques scratch in Rainy Pass

Jacques abandonne a Rainy Pass

Jacques officially scratch in Rainy Pass this morning.

Spirit not very high as you can imagine.
I am driving south to pick him up this morning.

He called me few minutes ago and said it is 20 below there and 40mph wind, planes are having hard time departing or arriving in Rainy Pass.

Jacques also told me that Mushers have broken leg, broken hankle, broken arms...

Bye
Jacques vient d'abandonner officiellement à Rainy Pass.

A bientot

trail from hell

VERY BAD TRAIL

PISTE TRES MAUVAISE

Just to let you know that I talked to Jacques last night and he may consider not going futher on the trail, he is in Rainy Pass and he describe the trail as DANGEROUS he lost the team last night but find them again all healthy.

He describe a terrible trail, no snow, hard, stumps sticking out and the same tree he encounter couple year ago and cause him injuries to his hand made him lost the team.

I talk to Mel and Doug got hurt apparently in the same spot and according to Doug "probably the same god damm tree" !!!

Dee Dee just scratch in Rainy Pass due to Injuries !!!!

I learn more today !!!

STEVE VISITING FROM ENGLAND

VISITOR FROM ENGLAND

VISITE D'ANGLETERRE

Steve arrived few days ago for 4 weeks to visit us. He live in the UK near London and has one dog of us STING and he got couple more that are still here waiting for the Quarantine to be over to fly in UK. He has Siberian huskies and he want to have "real race dogs" !! so he came over to learn since he is almost the only one with Alaskan over there !!!!

Steve got a "wake up" with our 30 below temperature !! He is very nice and helpful.

I took him on sled and he drove his on 4 dogs team few days ago but I don't really have time right now with Iditarod coming so fast to teach time more... I promise when we come back from Anchorage I spend way more time teaching things.

He is so nice, clean the dish, scoop poop, walk puppies.... I guess he realize how busy we are...

I feel bad for him but I'll make it up to him in a week !!!!

OK I have to go back to my IDITAROD ACTIVITIES

Steve learning to make line with MAO and Keops help of course

ALASKAN HUSKIES

I just read this article by Joe Runyan on the Cabelas Web site about the ALASKAN HUSKIES...

Great article it is so hard to tell people what is an ALASKAN HUSKY...
I always answer it is not a breed but a type of working dogs...  They are only bred and selected for working/sport purpose and it should remain like this to have OUTSTANDING ATHLETES

This article is very good read it !
