Well I wanted to go there for a long time and this summer I decided I'll go this year.

Every year the Bald Eagles come to Haines to feed on a very late runs of Chum Salmon coming up the Chilkat River. The Chilkat river as a warm current and the river don't freeze so the salmon come late in it.
The Bald Eagles knows about it and they gather there EVERY YEAR to feed... About 3500 Bald Eagles come !

I will take a 2 day photo class with Arthur Morris a professional bird photographer from Florida.
I look foward to the class to get better and learn.. Now let's hope the weather will be OK.

Je voulais aller a Haines depuis longtemps et cet été j'ai décidé d'y aller cet hiver.
Tous les ans les Aigles a tête Blanches se réunissent a Haines pour se nourrir de Saumon dans la Chilkat River.
La Chilkat river a un courrant chaud qui l'empêche de geler aussi vite que les autres rivières donc les saumons la remontent très tard et les aigle le savent.
Plus de 3500 Aigles se réunissent pour se super dîner tous les ans....
Je me suis inscrite a deux jours de cours photos avec un photographe professionnel de Floride Arthur Morris.
Je suis contente d'avoir trouver enfin un cours photo et j'espère apprendre beaucoup et améliorer mes photos .
Maintenant il faut espérer que la météo sera coopérative.

Trying to find new leaders

Try to renew Leaders		Trouver des nouveaux chiens de tête
Some of our main leaders are getting old or will not run this winter. Jenny and Jewel are out completely it seems their injuries from last winter came back and will not let them run... this is sad new for us.... Memphis is still on training but I run her less... she is getting old.... So for the main race team Jacques has Google, Jasper and Loly. I have Pyramid, Onyx, Janet, Fuji and Memphis... We tried few dogs... Konga ! well I think she will be a good one but next year she will practice for sure this year but need to me more "focus" !!! Mulder is doing great.... Edfu, less crazy in lead has in the back and at least he can't chew the main line anymore. Quena and Giza are often in lead with an experienced dog... They are both doing good. We will see who ended up holding on all the training and racing in lead... For now the dogs have over 350 miles of training.		Certains de nos chiens de tête deviennent vieux ou ne courront pas cet hiver. Jewel et Jenny sont bléssées leur petits bobo de l'an derniers sont revenus et elles sont toutes les deux OUT ! Très triste pour nous. Memphis toujours a l'entraînement mais je l'entraine moi que les autres... elle devient vieille. Pour l'attelage principale de Jacques il y a Loly, Jasper et Google. Moi j'ai Onyx, Janet, Pyramid, Fuji et Memphis... Nous avons essayé quelques chiens en tête: KONGA: elle sera bonne l'an prochain, on va l'entrianer comme leader a l'entraînement mais elle a besion d'etre plus "focus". Mulder ca va bien... Edfu, ca le calme et en plus il ne peut pas manger la ligne.... Quena et Giza sont biensure en tête regulièrement avec des chiens plus experimentés. On verra cet hiver qui finit dans les courses en tête.... Maintenant nos chiens ont plus d'entraînement dans les pattes.

TRAINING UPDATE + PHOTOS

20 miles		32 Kms
We are now doing 20 miles on the powerline. The temperatures are WARM ! 30f this morning !!! Let's hope for colder temperature soon so the lakes freezes and be ready when we want to go to the 35 miles loop down in the flats. Here's some photos from yesterday training... You will see that the habits our seems to have which is to CHEW LINE didn't got any better !!!		Nous faisons maitenant 32kms sous la ligne electrique. Il fait super chaud ! -2°c ce matin..... Il faut espérer des tempérarures plus froides rapidement car les lacs ne gèlent pas bien et cela serait bien que la glace soit bien épaisse quand nous allosn decider d'aller faire 56km. Notre bloucle est située dans les marrais et nous passons sur plusieurs lacs pour y aller. Voici des photos prisent hier ! Vous verrez certaisn de nos chiens n'ont pas perdu d'attitude et le "dévorage de ligne" continue !!!

LANCE MACKEY

Last week end at the ADMA Symposium I went to only ONE talk... LANCE MACKEY and I am so happy I did... first for those of you who don't know who he is !!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN !!!!! HE IS THE FIRST MUSHER WHO WON QUEST AND IDITAROD IN THE SAME YEAR !!!!! Lance talked about his life and dogs of course he made sure that we all know that his family is very IMPORTANT !!! And he mention things about his dogs !!!!! He wants them CRAZY WITH LOT OF ATTITUDE.... and GOOD APPETITE... feet and confirmation is secondary !!! He explain they chew necklines like crazy and jump and make noise... IF THEY DON'T HE DON'T WANT THEM !!!!!!! This was nice to hear... for me.... since our dogs are always so noisy and I always have to carry many SPARE necklines and always have to watch every one of them at the starting line.... and if I stop too long I know I'll have to change necklines !!!! Anyhow Lance talk was great and funny !!!! He had 13 dogs in his Iditarod team that just finish the Quest ! more he had one YEARLING (less than 2 years old dog) that Finish the Quest (winning team) and then the dog went all the way to White Mountain on the Iditarod !!! AMAZING.... you can go online to ADMA web site and buy the CD I think.....		Le week end dernier je suis allée au seminaire organizé par le club de Fairbanks. Je n'ai ecouter que un presentateur LANCE MACKEY !!!! Si vous ne savez pas qui il est ! je ne sais pas sur quelle planete vous vivez ! Il est le premier musher a gagner le Quest et L'Iditarod la meme année !!! Lance a parler de ca famille, sa vie et ces chiens biensure.... Il a parler de ces chiens ! ils les veux FOUX et BRUYANT !!! ils veut les voirent sauter, faire du bruit et si ils mangent les necklines PAS GRAVE !!!! Si le chien n'est pas super exiter pour courrir il n'en veut pas !!!! Ca m'a fait plasir d'entendre ca.... car nos chiens sont connus pour etre bruyant et destrcuteurs a l'arret !!!! Lance avant 13 chiens dans sont attelage Iditarod qui venaient de finir le Quest ! et un super YEARLING (chien de moins de 2 ans) qui a fit le Quest (attelage vainqueur) et il a été jusuq'a White Mountain sur l'Iditarod assez incroyable non??? Les CD su seminaire sont a vendre qur le site de l'ADMA !

TRAINING UPDATE

October 24th update		Le 24 Octobre
Sorry I go busy (Symposium last week end) and didn't had time to update the BLOG. Training is going well we are still training 58 dogs.... Jacques runs teams of 18 dogs and I run teams of 16 dogs. We are going 14 miles but start going 20 tomorrow.... We don't have much snow but the ground is white so can't complain....		Désole j'étais pas mal occupé (séminaire le week end dernier) et je n'ai pas eu le temps de mettre a jour le BLOG. L'entraînement se passe bien, nous entraînons toujours 58 chiens. Jacques a des attelages de 18 chiens et moi j'en prend 16 a la fois. Nous faisons toujours 22km mais a partir de demain nous allons faire 32km. Nous n'avons pas beaucoup de neige mais le sol est blanc donc on ne se plain pas trop....

Well he past the one month "trial" and seems to still like it here.... he may survive all winter ! who knows.... He is 21 yrs old and just got of University with a Major in Geography. He loves the dogs and before coming here he didn't much experience with sled dogs.... Last winter he took a 5 day trekking with tour dogs and he likes it and wanted to try the "real thing" !!! He is doing very well, he is not Lazy and is really willing to learn and most important really loves the dogs... After training he usually goes for walk with the puppies or older dogs when there is not much to do around here.... Let's hope he manage to spend a winter in Alaska !!!		Il a passé la période "d'essais" de 1 mois et il est toujours là ! donc il doit aimé ça..... il va peut être tenir tout l'hiver... qui sait.... Il a 21 et sort de Fac de Géographie.... Ils adore les chiens et avant d'arrivée ici avait quasi pas d'expérience avec les chiens des traîneaux. L'hiver dernier il a fait un raid de 5 jours en chiens avec une societe touristique et il a décider de voir ce que c'était cette vie qui l'attire.... Il se débrouille super bien il est pas fenian et adore les chiens et veut apprendre. Il est gaga des chiens... les après midi après les entraînements quand on a pas de trucs a faire ici il va faire de longues balades avec les chiots ou les vieux chiens.... Espérons qu'il tiendra l'hiver....

NEW CAMERA : CANON XTI

Well with some of my PFD Money I got myself a Canon XTI (or called Canon 400D) , this is a DSLR. I had one of my old Sigma lens for my Canon SLR (paper camera) upgraded to Digital so I have a 170-500mm Lens to play with now... Now I want to get a 50-150mm F/2.8 but.... pricy so I have to wait I guess.... here's a photo of the camera and Lens		Avec une partie de mon "PFD" je me suis offert un Canon Digital DSLR c'est le model XTI (ou appeler Canon 400D). J'ai fait chnager en Digital un de mes zoom que j'avais sur mon Canon Papier donc j'ai un 170-500mm qui va dessus maintenant. J'ai reperer le zoom Sigma 50-150 F/2.8 mais il est cher donc je vais attendre un peu voila un photo de mon appareil et du Zoom
