Today Matt and I wanted to harness broke the last litter of puppies remaining to train, the crazy one out of Pyramid and Wind...
They are named after CACTI plants/flowers
We only did 4 pups out of the 7 because it warmed up way to much with the bright sun !! We trained Aloe, Cereus, Cacti and Oroya...see the photo below !!
Puppies did great !!!

Aujourd'hui Matteo et moi voulions débouré la dernière portée de chiots... les petits "fou" issue de Pyramid et Wind....
Ils ont des noms de Cactus !
On a fait que 4 chiots sur les 7 car la température est monté très vite avec le soleil... Nous avons entrainé: Cacti, Oroya, Cereus et Aloe...regardez les photos ci dessous

Hello,
Jacques is still in Sweden and should be back March 11th...
I am currently training 16 dogs for the Open North American Championship in 10 days.
Today due to my work schedule I could only train from the kennel and went 11 miles and the temperature was 50 above !!! Took us just under 40mn which is not back considering the weather....
I have 3 yearling in this team: Cast and Cipher (littermates) and Snefru a proud son of Memphis....
All the other dogs except one (Diamond) raced the Fur Rendez-Vous with Jacques.
For Leaders I have Google, Loly and Edfu and for back up in case of "plan B needed" I have Onyx, Cumin and Jasper but hopefully don't plan on having to put them up front...
This week end is the Limited North American Championship, Skijoring, 4 dogs, 6 dogs and 8 digs team will compete. My close friend Wendy Callis and her daughter Beth are both racing in 6 and 8 dog class... I plan on going there couple of days and will post photos of course !!!

Jacques est toujours en Suède et devrait etre de retour le 11 Mars.
J'entraîne 16 chiens pour les Championnats Nord Americain de Vitesse catégorie Illimitée (ONAC) qui se déroule dans 10 jours environ...
Aujourd'hui a cause de mon emploie du temp de travail au Lodgej'ai entrainer depuis le chenil il faisit +10c !!! oui super chaud. J'ai fait 17.6kms en moins de 40mn ce qui est pas trop mal pour nos chiens et surtout pour cette température.
Das les 16 chiens ils y a 3 chiens de 18 mois : Cast et Cipher (frère et soeur) et Snefru mon chouchou, fils de Memphis.
Tous les autres chiens ont fait le Fur Rendez Vous avec Jacques sauf Diamond.
Pour chiens de tête j'ai Google, Loly et Edfu et en "roue de secours si probleme" j'ai Onyx, Cumin et Jasper mais croisont les doigts que tout aille bien.
Ce week end c'est les Championnats Nord Americain de Vitesse catégorie Limitée. Attelages de 4, 6 et 8 chiens ainsi que Skijoring. Mon amie Wendy Callis et sa fille courrent en 6 et 8 chiens... je vais aller voir la course ce week end et biensure je partagerais les photos avec vous.

Les championnats Nord Américians

My next race will be the Open North American Champioship in Fairbanks.
This is a 3 day race with the 2 first days of 20 miles and the third one of 29 miles.
This race is very fast and very competitive..Most fo the same mushers from the Rondy will be there racing plus other one....
This year will be the 63rd running of the race. The ONAC is the oldest continuously run sled dog race of any kind in the world. First run was in 1946.

Ma prochaine course sera les Championnats Nord Americains de Vitesse Catégorie Illimitée.
C'est une course de 3 jours les deux premiers jours sont des manches de 30kms et le dernier jours 44km.
C'est une course très rapide et très très dure au niveau de la compétition.
La plupart des mushers qui etaient au Rendez-Vous y seront plus d'autres!
Cette année c'est la 63 éditions de cette course. L'ONAC est la plus vieille course au monde de ce type qui n'a jamais été ANNULE ! La première édition était en 1946 !

Iditarod Starts this week end

Can you beleive 96 mushers !! this is going to ba a crazy start and don't want to imagine the first 2 or 3 checkpoints of the race ! My hat down to the volunteers and officials....
I am rooting for Warren Palfrey our friend from Yellowknife... he bought the dogs from our other friend Doug Swingley last year so I espect he will do "no too bad"... also he was in Montana stayign with Doug and Mel from January until a week ago.
We will see how it goes for me !!!

96 mushers pour le départ de l'Iditarod c'est de la folie !!! je ne veux pas imaginer le départ et surtout la "folle" dans les 2 ou 3 premiers points de controles de la piste !!!! Je souhaites du courages a tous les voluntaires et Officielles...
Je suis pour Warren Pelfrey notre ami de Yellowknife (Canada).... Il acheter les chiens de notre amis Doug Swingley l'an dernier donc je pense qu'il va bien se débrouillé ! et pour aide depuis Janvier il entrainait a Lincoln et etait avec Doug tout le temp....

We are leaving this morning for Anchorage where Jacques will compete in the Fur Rendez-Vous Sled dog race.
3 days race with 27 mile seach day starting and finishing downtown Anchorage !
One of the oldest sprint race in Alaska...
