Couple of days with friends

Last week Jacques and I went for couple of days to visit our friends Catherine and Bernard in the Trapper Creek area. They live in remove place only accessible by dog team, snowmachine in winter or Argo in summer. Jacques skijor with Loly the 11 miles form the parking to the cabin, and I drove the Skandik SWT with Keops, Keops ran 7 miles out of the 11 to go to the Cabin !!! They build a beautiful log home on a lake by themself with tree from their properties... they are an OUTSTANDING view of Denali from their living room... We had a great time.... here's some photos below....		La semaine dernière Jacques et moi sommes allé rentre visite a nos amis Catherine et Bernard qui habitent dans la région de Trapper Creek. Ils habitent dans un endroit hors des routes accessible uniquement en hiver par chiens ou snowmachine et en été par engin amphibie. Jacques a fait fu Skijoring avec Loly pour les 18km entre le parking et la maison. Moi j'ai voyager avec la snowmachine et Keops, qui a courrut 11km des 18 pour aller chez eux ! Ils ont construit eux meme une superbe maison en rondins au bord d'un lac avec les arbres de leur terrains... Et ils ont une vue de Denali EXCEPTIONNELLE.... TOP 3 YEARLINGS FOR THIS SEASON

Looking at this season training and racing the 3 best yearlings are : CAST CIPHER SNEFRU They were all racing with us this winter. Cast raced with Jacques in Wyoming.... Cipher and Snefru with me. Snefru ran 3 stages in lead for me in Wyoming as well as one day in the Seeley Lake Stage race. After the Stage races those 3 made the transition to faster pace with no problems. Cast ran 3 days of the Rondy with Jacques and Snefru 2 days. Snefru ran 2 days of the ONAC for me and Cast and Cipher ran all 3 days. We bred Cipher to Jago and she is due end of April....		En regardant les entrainements et courses de cette hiver les 3 meilleurs jeunes sont: CAST CIPHER SNEFRU Ils ont tous courruent cet hiver avec nous. Cast était dans l'attelage de Jacques au Wyoming, Cipher et Snefry courraient avec moi. Snrefu a fait 3 étapes en tête au Wyoming et une à Seeley Lake. Apres les courses a étapes ces 3 là n'ont pas eu de problemes pour s'adapeter a l'entrainement plsu rapide pour la catégorie Ilimitée. Cast à courrut les 3 jours du Rendez Vous et Snefru 2 jours. Cast et Cipher ont courrut 3 jours de l'ONAC pour moi et Snefru les deux premiers jours. Nous avons fait saillir Cipher par Jago et elle devrait avoir des bébés fin avril...

It is so good to see them... hopefully they stay a little before heading back toward Yellowknife !!!!

Racing season finished

The ONAC will be our last race for this season. Let's says it didn"'t go as "planned"... I made mistake and I will hopefully learn from them.... Now we just train puppies ! this is fun !!! Below some ONAC photos.... some below to a FLICKR members from Fairbanks one is from my friend Pascale and some from my other friend Scott Chochon....		L'ONAC était la dernière course de notre saison.. On peut dire que tout n'a pas été comme prévu ! j'ai fait des erreures et j'espere "apprendre de ces erreures" ! ONAC TRAIL

This morning was the musher meeting for the ONAC then we went check out the trail.
Buddy Streeper took me on the back of his 4 stroke Skidoo....
We started from the ramp at the end of 2nd street.... the river is nice the slough is icy, bad on some spot and some spots are perfect !
Creamers field NO SNOW... I don't think you can hook down in the field at all....
The dog trail don't have much snow either... the Overflow in the 30 miles is not very nice and Long but I think the trail crew will do their best to make it safe for Sunday...

Tomorow the race starts at 1pm : Below some info from the ADMA web site:

The 63rd annual GCI Open North American Championship Sled Dog Race will take place on 2nd Avenue in downtown Fairbanks, March 14, 15 and 16. The start order for Friday will be posted when available. The draw and "Meet the Mushers" event for this year's race wll be Wednesday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Westmark Hotel.

Racing begins at 1:00 p.m. each day. Coverage of the 2008 race will be broadcast locally on radio station KFAR 660 AM and audio streaming on their website, www.kfar660.com. Look on the left side of the page for the box that says "Listen Live." Coverage is scheduled from 12:00–4:00 p.m. each race day.

Webcams should be available showing 2nd Avenue from the Springhill Suites by Marriott webcam and the river ramp from the Pro Music webcam.

To view each day's results and download timesheets for the next day, go to our 2007–2008 race schedule and scroll down to the Open North American section.

Ce matin avait lieu de musher Meeting et ensuite nous avons été faire une reconnaissance de la piste. Je suis aller avec Buddy Streeper sur sa nouvelle snowmachine 4 temps Skidoo.... La piste a très peu de neige, certains endroits sont très glacé et y'a meme de l'herbe ! sur certaines sections il ne faut meme pas penser planter l'ancre !!!

PUPPY TRAINING

Last litter of puppies		Les derniers chiots
Today Matt and I wanted to harness broke the last litter of puppies remaining to train, the crazy one out of Pyramid and Wind... They are named after CACTI plants/flowers We only did 4 pups out of the 7 because it warmed up way to much with the bright sun !! We trained Aloe, Cereus, Cacti and Oroya...see the photo below !! Puppies did great !!!		Aujourd'hui Matteo et moi voulions débouré la dernière portée de chiots... les petits "fou" issue de Pyramid et Wind.... Ils ont des noms de Cactus ! On a fait que 4 chiots sur les 7 car la température est monté très vite avec le soleil... Nous avons entrainé: Cacti, Oroya, Cereus et Aloe...regardez les photos ci dessous Les chiots ont été super!!
